FORT LEE, Va. – Fort Lee will pay tribute to 15 veterans who served in the same unit at Fort Lee in 1966 followed by a tour together in Vietnam. Their return after 50 years will be marked with a ceremony and tour.

The 15 Vietnam veterans were all part of the 109th Quartermaster Company at Fort Lee in 1966 and were subsequently deployed to Vietnam together with the 383rd Quartermaster Detachment Air Delivery.
A ceremony commemorating their service and their return will include presentations from Colonel Robert L. Hatcher Jr., Chief of Staff, Combined Arms Support Command and Fort Lee.
Prior to the ceremony, the veterans will tour Fort Lee. At Aerial Delivery and Field Services they will experience the rigger simulator, which replicates a parachute fall using today’s technology.
The veterans will also see the Reconfigurable Vehicle Tactical Trainier, a popular convoy simulator with 360-degree views of the virtual environment. At lunch, the veterans will dine with today’s military in one of the Army’s largest dining facilities.
