FORT LEE, Va. –Top elected officials from six local communities joined Fort Lee leaders in signing a covenant in support of military members and their families here today.

The signatures of leaders from Fort Lee, Chesterfield County, Colonial Heights, Dinwiddie County, Hopewell, Petersburg and Prince George County are a symbol of the community’s obligation to build strong communities that support military personnel and their families.

Signatories to the covenant included:  Maj. Gen. Darrell Williams, Combined Arms Support Command and Fort Lee commanding general; Command Sgt. Maj. Nathaniel Bartee, CASCOM command sergeant major; Col. Adam Butler, Fort Lee garrison commander; Command Sgt. Maj. Clarence Richardson, Fort Lee command sergeant major; Steve Elswick, chair of the Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors; Colonial Heights Mayor Gregory Kochuba; Brenda Ebron-Bonner, chair of the Dinwiddie County Board of Supervisors; Hopewell Mayor Brenda Pelham; Petersburg Mayor W. Howard Myers; and Bill Robertson, chair of the Prince George County Board of Supervisors.
