FORT LEE, Va. – Thousands of soldiers will run and hundreds will gather for a ceremony celebrating the U.S. Army’s 241st birthday here, Tuesday.

WHAT: Fort Lee Army Birthday Celebration Activities

WHEN: Tuesday, June 14, 6 a.m. (Run); 11:30 a.m. (Cake Cutting Ceremony)

WHERE: CASCOM (Run); Lee Theater (Cake Cutting Ceremony)

Fort Lee’s birthday festivities begin with a 3.5 mile installation run at 6 a.m. The event – which promotes esprit-de-corps – will be led by leadership from the installation.

Following the run, a cake-cutting ceremony is set for 11:30 a.m. at the Lee Theater. The program includes a special presentation to recognize the CASCOM Ultimate Warrior winners and features the 392nd Army Band in one of their final performances before their deactivation. Maj. Gen. Darrell K. Williams, Commanding General, Combined Arms Support Command and Fort Lee, is the keynote speaker. The ceremony is free and open to the public.
