FORT LEE, Va. – The 392nd Army Band offers free performances to Central Virginia schools in March, but the deadline for submission is close.

Supporting Fort Lee’s annual “Music in Our Schools” program, the 392nd Army Band offers an educational component of music through a choice of three different acts, tailored to fit the needs of schools and their students. The Rock Band and Jazz Combo feature some contemporary hits with elements of guitar, drums, keyboard, horns and a vocalist.  The Sustainment Winds features instrumentals from a flute, clarinet, saxophones and a bassoon.

Fort Lee launched the program in 2011, taking the music of the 392nd Army Band to over 30,000 students in local schools.

This is the final week for “Music in Our Schools” performance requests.  The band asks for the submission of requests by Jan. 31.
