FORT LEE, Va. – The Garrison Public Affairs Office here has launched a new online press center that will make it easier for news media and community members to stay informed about events and issues associated with the installation.

“The Fort Lee Press Center represents a major step forward in our ability to keep newsmakers informed of events and activities on post,” said Stephen Baker, director of the Public Affairs Office. “Most importantly, this is a two-way communication platform, meaning that news media and members of the community can not only sign up to receive updates, but also submit inquiries about Fort Lee directly through the website.”

The Press Center can be accessed at www.fortleepresscenter.com and also will soon be directly accessible via Fort Lee’s website at www.lee.army.mil.  Included on the site are news releases, media advisories, community newsletters and facts about Fort Lee. It also features an inquiry form that can be used by media to get answers to questions, or by community members who have an event or story idea they want to share.

Baker said media representatives using the Fort Lee Press Center to submit inquiries can expect a faster response time, as they will be visible to multiple public affairs personnel around the clock, from any location. “We are dedicated to providing accurate information as quickly as possible – this site will help us do just that,” he added.

Media representatives who would like to be included on the Fort Lee media list should visit the Press Center and select “Join Email List” at the top of the site.
