FORT LEE, Virginia – Kenner Army Health Clinic received notification this evening that an individual working at the post’s Mosier Dental Clinic has tested positive for COVID-19.
This is the second such case associated with Fort Lee. The results were received from a clinic in Henrico County, where the employee was tested on March 18 after five days of illness. The individual went into self-quarantine March 13 at the first sign of symptoms and followed all protective measures as outlined by the CDC.
KAHC has notified the individual and is currently conducting necessary contact tracing to determine and notify all potentially impacted personnel.
People who have had contact with this person will be notified to self-quarantine in their homes according to CDC guidelines.
Fort Lee is currently operating at Health Protection Condition Charlie, which mandates social distancing practices across the installation along with other measures designed to slow the spread of communicable diseases.
Post leaders continue to reiterate guidance for service members, families and civilians in the community to seek medical attention if they display symptoms, or have come into contact with a known source of the virus. Those individuals are asked to self-quarantine until the return of a negative test result.
Team Lee members and families are encouraged to employ prevention measures including practicing strict hygiene, social distancing, staying home if sick, self-isolating if exposed and contacting a healthcare provider if experiencing any symptoms.
