FORT LEE, Va. – Media are invited to attend a kickoff ceremony and parade in honor of the Month of the Military Child here, April 3.
Fort Lee Garrison Commander Col. Adam Butler will open the event with a proclamation signing before children, parents, 392nd Army band members, police and fire personnel, and emergency vehicles parade through one of the installation housing areas.

Since 1986, Army installations around the world have recognized the sacrifices and courage of military children by celebrating the Month of the Military Child throughout April.
In addition to the kickoff and parade, Fort Lee children will engage in a variety of fun activities to commemorate Month of the Military Child including pinwheel planting, fly a kite day, wear purple for military kids day and a Spring Fling to name a few.
