FORT LEE, Va. – Media are invited to attend Fort Lee’s 50-state cannon salute, Cruise-In Car Show and the Forth at the Fort event to celebrate Independence Day.

At noon, members of Fort Lee’s Ordnance Corps will fire 50 cannons in honor of each state in the nation. The salute will take place a Williams Stadium.

At 2 p.m., car enthusiasts will gather at the Lee Club for a Cruise-In Car Show.

Beginning at 5 p.m., Fort Lee’s Fourth at the Fort kicks off with music, food, family and fun. The celebration features contain music from the Trademark Band, Fort Lee’s own 392nd Army Pop Band and a DJ. The event also boasts the KidZone – inflatables and other games for kids. Food, beverages and merchandise will also be available.

Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:35 p.m. Postponements or cancellations due to severe weather will be announced through social media at www.facebook.com/armyfortlee or www.facebook/fortleefmwr.

Those planning to participate are reminded that personal pyrotechnics, tailgating, coolers, smoking or pets are not permitted in or around the event area.
