FORT LEE, Va. — A man is in Fort Lee law enforcement custody after a search for a suspect who allegedly fled on foot from the scene of a Monday evening car crash.

The suspect is accused of stealing an unsecured privately-owned vehicle, recklessly driving through Fort Lee, crashing near the A Avenue gate and fleeing into the woods overnight.

The individual was described as a white male, about 5-feet, 9-inches tall shirtless, with a large tattoo on upper left chest.

The suspect was not part of the Afghan evacuee population on Fort Lee.
